Freehand drawn chessboard

To enclose the manuscript's basic look, designer Franco Rocco hand-drew single colour chess board in a style of the manuscript (see below). Chessboard is printed on a quality 4mm thick cardboard.

  •      * Board dimension is 45x45 cm
  •      * Square size is 48x48 mm

 * original chessboard from the manuscript

Drawing of the original chessboard (same style was used by Franco Rocco for reproduction);

The first thing to notice, is that the artist first drew a line along the top, then down the left hand side after which he placed dots where the downward lines would go and then the same along the left hand side (obviously a left handed artist).
