Noj Ltd woodturnery

We are a family owned woodturning company, established in 1978, is mainly concentrated on the production of small turnings. Beside mass made wooden pens and items for furniture industry, its biggest challenge was manufacturing handmade fountain pens and collectors chess pieces. At first we produced the historical Dubrovnik 1950 chess pieces and quickly expanded the line with several other sets. New challenges came with the unique designers sets (such as Oskar Kogoj and Janez Suhadolc sets) or the innovative set by Sergio Gobbo, which is a chess set made for 5-year old children. All of this led us to the biggest challenge so far – recreating futuristic chess pieces by one of the world’s most brilliant men, Leonardo da Vinci. Talk about a pressure.

ARTIST STATEMENT: We, the craftsmen at Noj Ltd., try to manufacture every piece to the best of our ability. Whether it is a handmade fountain pen, Staunton type chess piece or something as unique as a Leonardo da Vinci set, we give our heart, sweat and soul into the manufacturing process Only the top made product is good enough.
